Mac OS X Lion 10.7 for Apple MacBooks is Coming Soon
Mac OS X Lion or Mac OS X 10.7 is the 8th major release of Mac OS X, which is Apple's desktop and server operating system for Macintosh computers. Mac OS X Lion's release date is not confirmed, but it is set out for Summer 2011 which could be this WWDC 2011 in June, so lets just get a quick preview of the Mac OS X Lion as we see what features and changes it brings.
In the Apple's "Back to the Mac" event on October 20, We first seen the Mac OS X Lion Preview. It bring a lot of changes and developments that is featured by the Apple iOS. Easy navigation display for installed Application and will be including a support for the Mac App Store, which is also introduced in the Mac OS X Snow Leopard Version 10.6.6 in February 24, 2011. The latest preview of the Mac OS X Lion was released to subscribers of Apple’s developers program. Its preview 2 was released in March 30,2011. So what are the changes?
AirDrop—Mac-to-Mac file sharing.
ASLR support—Lion would incorporate full ASLR (Address Space Layout Randomization), a security technique that puts important data in unpredictable locations, making it harder to target known weaknesses. - FaceTime comes bundled with Lion.
Folder Merging—Unlike previous versions of OS X, one can now merge files under two folders with the same name. A prompt will appear asking whether one wants to replace or keep both files. Supporting applications display a new button at the top right of application window, this button opens applications in full-screen mode.
High quality multilingual speech voices—In Lion, Apple has added dozens of new high quality voices in more than forty languages and dialects.
Improved support with Windows file sharing and network directory services—Due to Apple replacing the open source Samba software with their own tools for Windows file sharing and network directory services. The version of Samba Apple had been using prevented Macs from seamlessly working with modern PCs running Windows 7, Apple’s own software won’t be constrained by the design limitations of Samba.
